Liz, tell us a little about your business? Our primary business is securing and selling fresh unflavored, fused and infused olive oils from both hemispheres, and aged 12-18 year, naturally flavored balsamic vinegars.
What gets you exited about owning your own business? My mother, Jeanne Mackay, actually owns both stores (Topeka and Overland Park) but I manage the Topeka store and show up at many offsite events during the year. For myself, I have come to the conclusion that the excitement is both in the wonderful customers who come through our doors to find out exactly what these products are and how to use them ... as well as our community's support to gourmet specialty shops like ours ... and of course, a truly excellent staff working with me!
How long have you been selling olive oils and balsamic vinegars? I started at the Topeka store in February of 2015, so almost three and a half years.
Describe a few of the products you will have at Cider Days ... We will be selling our bottled oils and vinegars of course, gift sets of the same, and some of the other gourmet specialty food items we carry in the store ... like olives, coconut oil, pasta, sauces, sea salts, loose leaf teas, spice blends, and / or jarred pestos and bruschettas.
